Head of HCI Design
Design and team lead for 5 principal/senior level UX designers and 3 external designers. Our team was responsible for delivering key features for first Windows 10 Mobile phones Lumia 950 and 950 XL. Team worked in tight collaboration with project management and SW development teams using Lean Startup and Lean Canvas methodologies in the daily work. Reported to Head of Phones UX Design and member of Phones UX Design leadership team.

Windows Hello with Iris
With Windows Hello user can unlock phone and sign in to applications just by looking on phone screen as iris scanning technology recognizes user's eyes. Work involved lot of early UX concepting and technology validation to get both enrollment and unlocking flows as comfortable and quick as possible, and lot of fit and finish work to get the experience right at the end before shipping Lumia 950 and 950 XL.

Phablet UI
Lumia 950 XL needed UI customization because of its phablet screen size 5.7". Bigger screen size allowed displaying more content to user, for example 4 open tasks per page in Multitasking view compared to normal phone Multitasking view where only 1.5 tasks are shown. To help using the phone with one hand user can pull down any view by long pressing Start key or move and resize keyboard to right/left screen edge by long pressing and dragging Space bar.

Lumia Settings
All Lumia specific settings (Advanced info, Color profile, Equaliser, Glance screen, Lumia motion data, Network services, Rate your device, Touch) updated to match new Windows 10 Universal Windows Platform (UWP) UI style. For Glance screen we also added support for background images.

Hey Cortana Voice Activation
User can launch Cortana in listening mode just by saying "Hey Cortana" and then continue telling her what to do. In order to prevent others from waking up the phone by mistake user also needs to first enroll and teach his voice first to Cortana. Work involved early UX concepting and technology validation to get both enrollment and wake up flows as comfortable and natural as possible, and lot of fit and finish work to get the experience right at the end before shipping the phones. First version of voice activation launched with Lumia 930 and 1520 in 2014 for Windows Phone 8.1 and updated version for Lumia 950 and 950 XL with Windows 10 Mobile.

Unannounced Input and Interaction Technology Projects
We had four longer projects on new input and interaction technologies, but all of them were either cancelled or postponed to future in 2015 re-org when Microsoft changed its mobile strategy. Work included early UX concepting and technology testing, interaction and UI model definition, prototyping and example app creation.
